FRODDO: General Assembly & CCAM Technologies Cluster Meeting in Ljubljana

The FRODDO project held its General Assembly Meeting on 3 and 4 June 2025 at the Faculty of Electrotechnical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Partners from the consortium met in person to discuss progress, challenges, and the next steps of the project.

During the meeting, partners presented updates on their respective tasks and work packages. The consortium actively discussed potential risks and ways to address them effectively, ensuring the project's smooth advancement.

A key part of the event was the clustering activities with the Integrated CCAM Technologies Cluster, featuring collaboration with the CONDUCTOR and iEXODUS projects.

Experts shared insights into Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM), highlighting how autonomous mobility is transforming traffic and fleet management to facilitate seamless multimodal transport of passengers and goods.

The discussions also covered digital technologies and navigation services aimed at improving safety, security, and sustainability in automated transport.

Through these sessions, the projects explored opportunities for future collaboration and identified common goals to drive innovation in smart mobility. Partners discussed their strategic plans and future activities, reinforcing their commitment to enhancing integrated transport systems, efficiency, and environmental sustainability.

Supporting the Goals of FRODDO

As a core contribution to the FRODDO project, Crimson SENTINEL plays a key role in delivering the project's broader vision: enabling Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) across Europe. The platform helps:

A step forward in the advancement of connected and automated mobility was achieved with the official start of the Integrated CCAM Technologies Cluster. This initiative unites several European projects under one cooperative umbrella, to redefine the future of transport.

Last week, representatives from the cluster’s member projects—AIthena, CONDUCTOR, EVENTS, iEXODDUS, and PODIUM—gathered to discuss their shared goals and collaborative strategies. This meeting was the beginning of a coordinated effort to accelerate the development of cutting-edge CCAM (Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility) technologies. By pooling resources, expertise, and innovative solutions, the cluster aims to overcome common challenges and drive forward a safer, smarter, and more efficient transportation ecosystem.

The Integrated CCAM Technologies Cluster embodies a shared vision of what tomorrow’s mobility can achieve. Each project brings unique expertise to the table: from advanced AI algorithms and cooperative driving systems to innovative data-sharing platforms and large-scale pilot programs. The Road Safety Cluster: A Collaborative Effort for Safer Urban Mobility

The EU-funded Road Safety Cluster was established in October 2024, bringing together ambitious projects aimed at enhancing road safety, automated mobility, and improving interactions between drivers and vulnerable road users (VRUs). Initially formed by AI4CCAM, HEIDI, EVENTS, PHOEBE, and SOTERIA, the cluster was recently strengthened with the addition of FRODDO, further amplifying its impact on developing safer, more inclusive, and resilient mobility solutions.

Focused on “Road Safety in Complex Urban Environments”, the cluster is dedicated to promoting a safe, inclusive, and sustainable mobility ecosystem. FRODDO Joins the EU Cluster on Road Safety and Automated Mobility

We would like to announce that the FRODDO project has officially joined the newly established EU cluster on Road Safety in Complex Urban Environments as of December 2024. This strategic collaboration brings together some of the most ambitious European initiatives to tackle the challenges of automated mobility, road safety, and the interactions between Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs) and Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs).

About the FRODDO Project

The FRODDO project is an EU-funded initiative dedicated to enhancing the safety, security, and adaptability of automated mobility in complex urban environments. FRODDO focuses on developing advanced sensing, machine learning (ML), hybrid AI, and simulation-based methodologies to improve the management of Operational Design Domains (ODDs) and ensure seamless, safe, and trustworthy Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) services.

Through a federated digital twin (DT) environment, FRODDO enables real-time data exchange between automated vehicles, infrastructure operators, and road authorities, ensuring that CCAM services operate within dynamic and diverse road conditions. The project also integrates fail-safe design principles to enhance redundancy and resilience, addressing critical factors such as traffic, weather conditions, infrastructure, and cybersecurity risks.

Advancing Road Safety and Automated Mobility
